Proud to be an American

Happy 4th of July everyone. Thank God for freedom! I'm so thankful all the time that I live in America and have all the blessings and rights that go along with that.

These pictures were taken July 3rd, but they seemed to scream "All American Hero" or captain underpants...either way. All of these things actually started out on Pippin, but they're cuter on Levi.

We were mostly home on the the 4th. Around 2pm we went over to our friend's house to have a bbq. We were supposed to stay all evening because they live on an army base that sets off a fireworks display once it gets dark. But, we just weren't very into it, so we only stayed a couple of hours. Levi did get to swim while we were there, however, and he was very into it. I think he's finally cool with water....not ocean, just water.

These next few are just some of my favorites for the day of our patriotic little boy.

People were setting off fireworks all over the place, naturally. So, a good part of our evening was spent either at the windows or outside in the driveway keeping watch for explosions. Nathan and Levi rode their bikes a little bit too.

Most of the fireworks watching was done by Levi, myself and Pippin. Nathan was in and out of it, cause he gets bored too easily. Also, it kept raining off and on, so sometimes we were outside, sitting in the driveway, and sometimes we were sitting in the doorway to keep dry, but still watching the sky. It was fun. Anytime one would go off Levi would get so excitedly let everyone know. I'm not sure what all he said, but he was talking up a storm about fireworks.

Once it got too dark and rainy to be outside, Levi and and I rejoined Papa on the couch to make smores. But, since our living room walls are mostly windows, we were still able to see fireworks here and there. It was a fun time. And I love this last picture to sum up the whole day.

I love his scrunched up smile for the camera face! Running back and forth from windows is how we watched fireworks too. The kids get so excited when they see one.

Did you make your flag cake like last year ???? We did a Dutch Mess at Grandad's on the 4th. He reminded me of a comment you made to him once while he was emptying his dishwasher and carefully putting away his silverware into the proper sections of the divider. "Aunt Lora just throws it all in there". Scream. Don't forget, kids notice EVERYTHING !!!!!
PS...... PIPPIN ROCKS !
PSS...Don't forget to think of your namesake on July 10---her birth & death day !! Amazing that she died on her BD.

I love the next to the last picture. His face in the last picture is so funny! :)
Oh, I keep meaning to tell you, I really don't know what I would like. I have days when I really want a boy, then the next day I hope for a girl.....I'll find out in September!
