soccer*pigs*puppies&school*

Last Friday Nathan graduated from the 7 week school he's been attending. Don't ask me to explain it...I can't. He learned stuff about computers. It's an advanced networking course that taught him how to design, build & manage computer networks. Anyhoo...he graduated. And if any of you recall my Christmas letter, I explained that this was a very tough school with a failure rate of 60%. However, my brilliant husband passed with the top grade in the class. Just as Levi & I predicted he would. Thus, when he got home from his last day of class, Levi and I rewarded him with balloons & strawberry shortcake. (Levi calls all cake type products "Happy Birthday")

Levi's way of congratulating Papa
oh, and of course there were suckers.
We had some playtime outside enjoying the rain-less weather whenever it comes along.
Levi set up a step ladder next to the fence so he could watch the neighborhood kids playing catch in the street. He was pretty pleased with his own ingenuity.
Saturday we had another papa soccer game to attend. Levi brought along his mega-phone this time to cheer his favorite player on. He spent a good deal of time yelling "go papa go!" Also a good deal of time running around the bases on the nearby baseball field.
The cheering worked...Papa's team won again. Levi and I had to wear sunscreen for the first time in several months. I guess the Hawaiian winter is over.
Last weekend Levi was watching Charlotte's Web and he asked "where's my pig?" Anytime he watches a show or movie he prefers to get one of his own toys that resembles the character he's watching so he can feel involved. But he did not have a pig...of all things. So, Papa told him that the next day after church we would go to a store and look for a pig. Levi was very excited and kept reminding us until we finally pulled into the "blue store" (wal-mart). We found the perfect little pig to be his new pet. It snorts and wrinkles up it's nose when you pet it.
So, Levi took it for a ride in his car. It must have been acting up in this picture below. You know how pigs can be.

He's pretty into his new pet. We named it Rosa (pink in Spanish). He needed some help in thinking of a name. He decided it was a girl, but then he just couldn't conjure up a name. That must come later.

Two ladies from our playgroup/bible study got puppies from the same litter and they've been bringing them to our meetings. Levi loves it, of course. He can't stop holding them! A few times I had to remind him that they're not toys and he can not put them in his cart. But age considered, he's pretty good with them.
For now we'll just stick to his pet pig, Rosa.

Good job, Nathan! Levi looks so big to me. I can't believe he is going to be 3-years-old already!

I love it that Nathan's a genius AND is playing soccer again! You guys have such a fun outdoor life---and that will continue in WA too where winter is very insignificant! And airfare affordable, just sayin. LOVE Levi's eyes and smile. Precious.
