4 year old boy!

Levi is 4 years old! He had his birthday last Tuesday and it was great. It was pretty toned down and underplayed allot like his first birthday for the same reasons; we're new here and don't have friends yet! But, it was a really nice day for the four of us. It was a workday, so Nathan had to do that, but he did come home at lunchtime. We picked up the mail and discovered his boxes from Grandma Connie. Get the party started.

This picture is so cute I thought Connie might like to see his enthusiasm. I'm in favor of anything that excites him into coloring.
After the openings we decided to take our lunch to the beach. It was a great sunny day with perfect jacket weather. Nathan could only stay with us for 30 minutes or so, but we stayed on at the beach for a couple hours on our own.
This was Gracie Bella's first time sitting in her stroller like a big girl rather than stuck in her car seat. I think she really enjoyed the new position. She got to watch Levi walk in front of her, and she was honored to hold his toys for him.
This scene is just the perfect place to take photos. I took Allison here a few months ago for her photos, and I did the same with my boy. I love them all, and he's so big! I just am so proud of how awesome he is now, and the complete man I just know he's gonna keep turning into.

He's truly fun to take pictures of. So handsome....I know he's gonna be the target of so many crushes like his papa was. Such a little actor and poser.

Levi told me not to take this picture because it was scary....I did not obey. I ain't scared of no ghosts. That's not true...I'm scared of things like a little girl. But, not cool tree art.
We couldn't really go to the beach beach because we have a stroller. But, at one point I let Levi mosey on down a path of sand and play a little within my sight.
She was cool with just sitting back and enjoying the Levi show.
While on the sand he needed to make some "snow angels."
Who knows why...I don't recall how the pout came about. Could have just been to boost up his skit. But it's a cute picture.

I just can't believe he's really a kid and not a baby anymore. I laugh at him and with him every day. He's superb.

Levi delights in getting up to Gracie girl's face and smiling or laughing or doing whatever he can to get a smile from her. It doesn't take much since she obviously adores him. So they're together like this laughing while I'm taking a picture and next thing I know Levi's down the path ...
....running away like a Muppet yelling "Ah spit bubbles!" That's how he tells me when she needs her mouth wiped.
This is how old he is... He gasps with excitement every time he sees a 4.
Ah....spider man birthday. I'm sure that has been the case for so many 4 year old boys throughout the ages. He takes casting out his webs very seriously. He fairly regularly circles me and traps me with his mad spider man skills.
Now he really can get his spidey on

His first act as my friendly neighborhood spider man should be to clean that mirror. yikes.

Onto the best gift of the day...Iron Man

Again Gracie playing her role as adorable little audience of one. I'll give a quick update on her. We went to the doctor for her four month check up last week. She's actually 4 1/2 months but anyway... She weighs 14 lbs, (in the 49th percentile) which is incedently how much Levi weighed at his 2 month check up. I don't know how long she is but she's in the 36th percentile of height. petite shorty...to be expected. I'm excited for everyone to meet her back home. She's a little ray of smilin' sunshine.

And his last present...Zurg; Buzz Lightyear's rival.
Spider man playing with Iron Man and Zurg. He likes him some superhero throw downs.
And that just about sums it up. He had a great day and that was really nice to know once it was all done. He appreciated each present and plays with them everyday. He recently went through all his toys with me and picked out many to give away. I'm hoping that's a step towards learning the value of a gift and money and thought that goes into each purchase. obviously that's a long lesson to learn, but it begins somewhere. Anyway, he got a few great gifts, some yummy cupcakes, an afternoon in the sun and some great pictures.

That's so interesting to me about Gracie's checkup in a weird way...today I was wondering how old our future kid(s) will be when they weigh the same as our 14 pound cat since he's the heaviest living thing I pick up right now. Just a weird wondering.

Happy belated birthday to your little man. I was just saying the other day that I can't believe he is 4 already. I mean, YIKES, where does the time go? He really looks like a little boy instead of a baby now. I like looking at photos of him because I feel like it gives me a glimpse of my future :)

Gracie is adorable as always and I can't wait to meet her face-to-face. I might have to buy her something girlie even though it's not her birthday :) I gotta get my girl fix somewhere!
