Animals and their noises

This is a video of Levi doing all his animal noises. I hope everyone can watch it, because it's really cute, and it'll be a chance to see how much he's grown since we were there. He's hit a talking spurt in the last few days. He's repeating words more often now and throwing random ones out that we didn't know he knew. I've decided one of his new nicknames is Tiny Dancer, because he dances every single time he hears music. He is funny though about when he wants me to dance. Almost always, but sometimes he does not approve of my dance moves. And if he doesn't like it, he'll furrow his brow real big time, frown and shake his head no at me. Kinda like Nathan. Except when Nathan does it, he also says, "You are so white."

Anyway, back to the animal noises....he's really good at shoring knowledge these days. I've started buying particular things that he can learn from. Like puzzles. I got some that are different body parts, and different items of clothing, clouds and sun and rain, stuff like that. Putting the pieces together is a little beyond him so far, but he'll hand me the right piece when I ask for it. We've been counting things for a while now. He does the pointing, I do the counting. But, that's how everything starts out. He wants me to do the words, and he'll do the action. But, I know he's learning it. He's coming along on Potty training. About a week ago, I decided to just start having him in underwear at home, come what may. As I've said before, he was great naked, but as soon as I put anything on him, he wouldn't tell me anymore that he needed to go. So, at first I was doing pull ups, because it at least didn't make a mess. But, turns out, he needs the mess. He didin't care that his pull up got wet, but he did care if, when he wore underwear, he got potty on his legs and the floor. So, he needed to see the affect before he would care to control it. So, about a week ago, I bought several packs of underwear so we could go through as many pairs as we needed in a day, and I've had him in them anytime we're home. And, it's worked. He's doing really well. He tells me he needs to go, and he's starting to hold it alot longer in between trips. Isn't it funny the things people want to know about a child's development? I mean...he's peeing in the toilet. Hip hip hooray. But, I know you care.

So, anyway, we're moving right along. Getting closer and closer to his second birthday.

What a smarty pants! And congrats on the potty training. I read it's more difficult for little boys than little girls but he seems to be getting it. He'll be a big boy in no time!
