For the love of Dogs and Music

The other day Levi was taking a bath, and I knew that Pippin was quite stinky and needed a bath. I hate bathing Pippin cause it's such a hassle. But, I knew that Levi would be oh so excited if I let Pippin get in the tub with him. We've never done that before. So, I went for it. It went pretty well actually. Levi thought it was absolutely fabulous. He got to poor endless amonts of water on Pippin's back. What more could you ask for?
Unfortunately Pippin won't sit down in the water either, even if you try to force him to. So, he can't teach Levi.

Attempting to brush Pippin's teeth. They both thought it was pretty bizarr so it didn't go on for too long. Long enough to get a picture though. Every boy should have a bath with a dog at some point in their life, right. I think so. I'm sure it'll happen more times too. Though, thankfully Levi hasn't requested it since that time. I expected him to ask every time he got in the bath.
Levi's been bringing me books like mad lately. He's really excited about it and wants you to read to him all evening long. And, I can only read the same book so many times, so I got out our big Dog Encyclopedia book that my Aunt Lora and Uncle Lou gave me when I was a teenager. I love that book. I figured Levi would too.
And he did. Here he is hugging one of the dogs. He did that to about every page.
Of course Pippin was involved too. Everyone has an opinion about everything in this family. Even the dog.

My dad sent me some new headphones a few days ago. When I was in St. Joe he saw that I was using some cheap-o ear bud headphones and he did not approve. So he sent me these great Sennheisers. They fold into each other and fit into a little case. So, they're good for an on-the-go person such as myself. Anyway, also on our trip to St. Joseph, Levi shared my lousy ear buds with me on the plane. I would wear one and he would wear the other and we would dance to the music while flying. So, since then he has known just what to do with headphones. Don't worry dad. He has careful hands for a toddler. He didn't even want to destroy them...just listen to them.

I'm glad he's a lover of dogs and music just like his mama. He'll always get plenty of both in this house.
I like how the chord to the other headphones is in between his toes in all the pictures. He does that. Messes with things with his toes. He'll be like me there too I guess. Pretty soon he'll pick things up with his toes instead of bending over. It's a handy gift.
Nathan started playing on a soccer team with his base. They had their first game saturday, which they won, naturally. It was really fun. In all his years of playing soccer, and all the years we've known each other, some how I have never seen him play soccer. I've seen him coach it, but not play on a team. I'm pretty excited for him. He's also gonna start playing basketball on the church team. All the sudden he's a jock again. Anyway, I thought this pictures was neat because of the backdrop to their soccer game.
This is what Levi did through most of it. Pushed around Papa's soccer ball in his stroller. He watched the game some off and on. But mostly he ran around in the grass chasing birds and the likes. It was fun. I'm looking forward to the season.
