my birthday, I suppose

My birthday was last weekend, and I got to do a few fun things for it. A few days before my birthday a group of us girls went out to eat at Ruby Tuesdays. Nancy's birthday is a week before mine, so it was for both of us. It was nice to go out and talk all night like girlfriends do.
This shirt is what Jenene made for me as a birthday present. You can't really tell in this picture, but it says, "Nathan's Girl." I love it. So, she wanted me to model it.

Here is my birthday cheesecake. The day before my birthday, as we were sitting on the couch, Nathan got out a notepad and started interviewing me. He wanted to know my top 12 favorite variaties of ice cream, my top 3 cake choices, top 5 meals, & top 4 worst chores. Then afterwards he told me that one by one we would cross the things off the list as I wanted them. So then he went to the store and got some of the desserts and he did the dishes. It was a very original present, and fun.
Levi could not stop blowing out the lighter as Nathan was trying to light my candles. He knows now, fire = blow it out. He's been through enough birthdays lately.
These cool candles are a present from Aunt Lora. They came just in time to be used.
Finally, he got to help blow them out. Sigh of relief. *Side note...it probably seems like he's always missing articles of clothing, but....it's hot here!
These are the flowers I got for my birthday. A friend of mine gave me the sunflower at our dinner out. And then the bouquet is from Nathan. One of the flowers in the bouquet brought on flash backs. Someone must have given me the same kind of flower when Levi was born, because as soon as I got them in their vase and smelled it, I couldn't stop thinking about the hospital and having him those first few days back home.

On my real birthday Nathan and I had another day of fun out on the bike. It was a really nice long day. We saw Prince Caspian, which was really good. We ate, we rode to some pretty sights, we went shoppingy. We did it all. And along the way I got to just pick out presents. We ate lunch at Planet Hollywood in Waikiki. It was fun. We were just so laid back and taking our time with every stop. That NEVER happens.
Levi got to spend the whole day with Auntie Jenene and the girls. He had lots of fun. He didn't care a lick that we weren't there. Which is big. It could always go either way. They went to the beach that morning, and then they got to swim in their little pool at home. He loves his Hawaiian "sisters." They're the only people who could entertain him for a whole day.
I really like this picture that Jenene took that day. He looks so cool. Like he's just chillin' with his girl...so what if his sunglasses have butterflies on them.

Happy to see you had a fun Birthday. Girlfriends are the stuff that keep us gals sane. The flowers were beautiful, and scent is the strongest of our senses for memory. The day with Natnan on the bike must have been great. Moter cycles are "cool".

Levi is way too cute, I love hearing about what all he's doing. These years are quite an experience!

I can't believe I forgot to wish you a happy birthday! Well, happy birthday! It looks like it was a good one.

I'm glad you and Nathan were able to spend the day together. I'm only now starting to realize how important "couple" time is for us married w/children types.
