Halloween

Hope everyone had a fun day on October 31. I know Levi did. It's so fun to watch him enjoy things in new ways each year he gets older. He is such a boy these days. Can't believe how old he's gotten just in the last few months. He's gonna be such a great age to be a big brother!
Halloween started off with a drive to the nearest mall. In a gas station on the way we had a clerk who reminded us of Uncle Mike Shalz. His face was painted and his hair spiked for Halloween and he asked Levi what he was gonna be later. Levi was not phased at all. (papa on the other hand almost left the store until he remembered it was Halloween) Levi just answered that he would be Buzz Lightyear and he wanted to trick or treat. It was a funny exchange.
The next several shots are Levi posing with the pumpkins we painted. He took so many good pictures that I had to show them all. I like when he comes up with the poses himself.

He's a natural model. Very rewarding to take pictures of him. Maybe he'll be a photographer later.

Finally he got to put on his Buzz costume. It was perfect. for the first couple of minutes he just "flew" up and down the hallway and stopped every once in a while to make faces in the mirror.
So excited about trick or treating. He had been talking about it ALL DAY LONG. I kept telling him to stop worrying, I would let him know when it was time. He would look out the window and say, "It's dark now." He was not completely accurate.
It was a tad chilly. It had been rainy all morning, so we were happy that it stopped in time. He started out with a coat but soon it was worth it to be a little cold if people could tell what he was supposed to be.
He was pretty cute leading the way to our neighbors. He seemed to think it was all pretty natural. Sure, I'll go ask my neighbors for candy.
Some of the houses he would say, "I'll do it all by myself." Then some would creep him out a little and he'd say, "You come too." But once the person answered the door he was talkative...and a little too friendly. We had to tell him about a dozen times to stop asking if he could stay at their house. Every person who gave him candy, he would say, "Thank you. Can I come in your house?" And they would say, "Uh...well, um..." Until I would quickly say, ""Okay Levi, say bye." To be fair, he also invited all the people who came to our door in to stay.

Taking inventory of the booty. Papa has to show him how to organize and pile his candy.

He was pretty satisfied with the haul. It was a fun day for him. I almost didn't get him a costume. I thought about just letting the day go by with some candy and staying home watching movies or something. Nathan was gone and I didn't want to think that far ahead. But, I'm very glad I pushed through and did what he would enjoy the best and add to his experiences. He was a great Buzz Lightyear.

Cute pumpkins. I'm terribly sorry that your son is a Mizzou fan.

Oh my goodness, how cute is this whole post? What a blast. Crack me up that he asked people if he could come in! Of course he did! His photo posing is great. What fun.

What fun it looks. Buzz Lightyear can fly to my house anytime.
