Pretty Pink Nursery
Gracie's nursery is finally finished. I've been working on it little by little since Nathan got home from his deployment. It took buying some things, but also just sitting down and getting the extras done, hopefully with some creativity. Here Levi is helping me put on the finishing touches yesterday. Adding some Tinkerbell embellishments to her trunk.
When he noticed that I was taking his picture he threw it down and went to hide. This is his new favorite hiding spot. He'll have to stop once there are things in there. But, it's fun for now.
Also impressive

The rest of the pictures are a tour of her room. Appreciate all the details. ;)

I wanted to make her room great but not spend allot of money. I decided to forgo spending oodles of money on wall hangings and got a couple rugs instead. I think it works well.
Levi helped me go through his large collection of stuffed animals to pick all his "tiny" ones to donate to Gracie Bella.
That Tinkerbell poster is on the front of her door. It's a Happy Holidays sign; Levi has a mickey one on his door. She may still be in the womb, but she's gonna have the Christmas Spirit!
A few of the pictures are a little repetitive but I'm trying to show all angles. It's hard to not see it in person, so this is as close as we get.
These say, "Let the Princess in you rule"- "Live, laugh, love" - & "Bless this Baby Girl"
I went a little crazy with the polka dots. I even put them on the diaper pail. Why not?
Love the sign auntie Vera made. Definitely a focal point. That right there was almost enough to make us decide against changing her name.
So, that's the room. I'm pleased with it. It's oh so very girly which is pretty much what I was going for. Just like when I was pregnant with Levi, I find myself wanting to just go in the nursery and sit down staring at the walls. Just picture her really being there soon. Last night, even Levi said "Mama, can we go in Gracie's room?" I asked him why and he said, "To just sit on the floor." He's real happy for her to come someday. He is always asking about her, but somehow not impatiently. The other day we were all three sitting in the living room and I sighed and said, "I'm bored." Levi jumped up off the floor with wide eyes staring at me and said, "You're born? Gracie's born?" After laughing I quickly told him, no no not born. Bored. And he just sat back down and said, "oh." He was like a new daddy jumping up if the wife says "ow." Is it time? was that a contraction? everyone to the car!

I LOVE everything you did. You should be an interior decorator when you grow up. So many clever things you originated. I'm so glad she's going to be GRACIE and so glad she'll have such a wonderful family, immediate & extended, to be born into. She's a lucky girl !! Your polka dots are awesome...even on your blog page. You Buckner/Hopper/Shalz wimmen are so talented & creative.

Isabella walked up while I was looking and said, "Oh, is that the baby's room, it's so pretty, I love the choices, it's beautiful, she's going to be a princess"
I love Levi's born/board comment.

I love how colorful and cozy it looks! And I like that you didn't use so many pastels like most people do traditionally. Can you come decorate my room, too?
Grace's room looks so cosy. I love the rug hangings and what you have done with the dream, imagine and believe. We must get these sort of ideas into the heads of our little people. It is what make's life wonderfully full of God's goodness. Kids need to reach for the highest target not just get by. And pink is good. For girls I mean, (like I would know.)
Very nice! I like the Baby Gap outfit too. So adorable.
