The Alps

I'm really on a mission to blog it up, peeps.  A few weeks ago Nathan decided (he's the only one who plans trips) that we should drive through the Alps.  I guess if we waited much longer we wouldn't be able to drive up as high because the snow gets treacherous.  Crazy.

We got to drive through 4 countries on our day trip; starting and ending in Germany, of course. Most of our trek was through the Swiss Alps, but we also went into Liechtenstein and Austria.
We spotted a McDonalds at the foot of glorious gloomy mountains.  Naturally we stopped.

Welcome
Swiss McDonalds trashcan: Thank You
We also have a picture of McDonalds in Hawaii and I know somewhere we have a photo of a "Mahalo" trash can at Taco Bell.

Undeniably this drive had some of the most magnificant view spots to pull over for.  This scene was completed by all the colorful sailboats out there.

A little further along our path we came across a mountain stream that we were able to walk down to.  The water was impressively blue and beautiful.

A little further up our route we were able to get out really walk through the Alps!

Little Heidi spotted in the Swiss Alps.

So green and perfectly giant yet softly majestic.

Sadly I didn't remember to flit around and sing "the hills are alive with the sound of music."

We spotted a random church on the hill side driving through a Swiss Mountain town.  It seemed like the perfect opportunity for a quick stone building photo shoot.
I kinda love both of their wind blown hair in this one...

I really like when we end up driving through crazy narrow streets with cool european buildings squashed up to the edge.  Needless to say, it happens pretty often.

Higher and Higher

Can you imagine living there?

I think I should drive here everyday from now on to do my bible study.

It might just be because I've watched too much Harry Potter but there's something magical about a train choo choo'ing at a mountain side.
Levi REALLY wanted to get out and touch the snow on the "top of the mountain."

Swiss Cow grazing in the Alps anyone?

That pretty much wraps up our drive through the Alps.  Just a whole lot of prettiness breaking in our new car.
