Delicious Fall

Even though I have oodles of back posts to make up on (starting with Easter...yikes!) I really needed to post these cause I'm so in love with the fall colors!  We have millions of perfect trees surrounding our apartment and I get to walk through them every day several times to and from Levi's school.

I love that sunlight streaming in on her only.
We got here on the very tag end of summer.  The leaves have been turning for several weeks now, and I had forgotten just how much I missed fall.  It's been YEARS since I've gone through a true autumn.  Obviously Florida and Hawaii are void of cool temperatures.  Washington was a little taste of fall and I was overjoyed by it.  But it's not until really getting it again that I realize just how many evergreens we had in Oak Harbor.
The way Gracie's face looks in these photos is really how I feel too.  Fall is magical.  I absolutely love sitting underneath the yellow tree and having a shower of leaves pouring over me.  It's awesome.  Gracie is trying to catch the leaves that are parachuting down.

The evening I took my camera outside it seems everyone in our stairwell wanted to be outdoors as well.  So we got some group leaf throwing pictures.

After our fun "block party" style photo shoot, we went out again the next afternoon for some more exclusive photos.  Every time we go outside the whole ground is blanketed in a rainbow of leaves; it's wonderful.

Of course, burying each other in leaves...

I love their faces in these pictures.  Levi looks just evil, and Gracie looks so worried.  It wasn't so dramatic as all that in real life.
I LOVE this one.  It's probably my favorite.

God is so fun with his creation.  I've never had to instruct my kids that leaves are fun to play in.  I've never sat them down and said, "it's fun to put leaves in a pile and then jump into them."  They just know.  It just comes naturally.  It's universal.  Leaves turn magical colors and then fall to become nature's soft supply for hours of fun.

Haha....this picture does not look very fair, but Gracie did throw her own batch of leaves too.  She's just tiny and not quite as effective   She did have fun though.

awww...aren't they cuties?  I'm always proud of the poses they come up with.  I said, "hey you two, look over here for a picture together."  And they fell into place like this.

squooshy smooch little sis?  Answer not required.

Charlie loves to have leaves and grass thrown his way.  He goes nuts for it.  He jumps and spins and waits anxiously.  Apparently it's quite thrilling to be assaulted with nature.

I took these photos about a week ago, and as I type this and publish it, the ground is now covered in snow.

JUST beautiful photos, Anna. Way to capture the leaf colors. Your kids are beautiful, too. The little neighbor boy is A.dorable. I think he's "Buggin' For A Huggin'," from what I can read. Charlie's teeth picture made me LOL.

These pictures are all awesome! I love a good impromptu photo shoot. Fall is amazing and I'm glad you got to enjoy a real autumn even though snow is now on the ground.

I especially adore the photo of the two posed together. Cutie pies for sure.

Love the pictures and love fall colors. So fun that you're finally getting some again, and then straight on to snow!

My fav is the two kids on the ground covered with leaves. It does look like fun, and I agree about fall. It is far to short.
