Note: there is a pineapple growing in that barrel.

Levi's favorite part by far....the train ride around the plantation. He loves trains, and directly after leaving the plantation we went and bought him a couple of "Choo choo trains" for his very own. So now he usually has Lightning McQueen in one hand and a choo choo in the other.

Here we are waiting for the train to pull up. He's saying "Choo choo?"

That pretty much sums up his Train experience and attitude.

This was a view from the train ride. It's so gorgeous. Almost looks a little African. Picture perfect.

They had a recorded tour guide going on over the train speakers the whole time telling us what we were looking at, and in between was some popular Hawaiian band doing their thing. So, Levi got to ride a choo choo train and dance. Pretty good day for him. Look over his left shoulder...Pineapple fields.

There were banana trees and flowers along the whole ride also.

After the train ride we had a gift shop/restroom break. While one of the moms was buying pearls for her girls, Levi and Valentino tried on hats. They had this little room with a mirror to see your hat selection.

It soon turned deadly as they took turns not letting the other one look in the mirror. Levi is prevailing in this one.

After the gift shop brawl we went and toured the garden path. It was lovely. A path taking you through beautiful tropical plant life. Grammy will love it.

Levi does appreciate flowers for a toddler. He likes to smell them and say what color they are. Especially if they're pink or purple. So far those are his most recognized colors.

As we were walking along the path, one of the turns suddenly took us to this little pond waterfall paradise. It was so serene and lovely. The fun thing was that I recognized all the tropical plants from people's yards. It's native stuff.

I was just waiting for someone to get pushed into the water. It could go either way.

Finally, after all the activities we settled down for some Pineapple ice cream. It was oh so very sweet.

Levi licked it off the spoon like a cone.

It was a fun day. It was one of the first little day trips we've done where I haven't taken the stroller. Levi appreciates being free to run around. Now we just have to perfect his listening skills.
We've had two different friends here have babies in the last couple of months and it's really given Levi baby fever. Every time the babies are around us he focuses all his attention on them and constantly asks to hug them and kiss them. And if I hold one of them he is right beside me asking to hold her himself. And then, when I give the baby back to her own mommy Levi says, "No no no no. My baby." One of our friends just had their baby last Friday. So, we visited them in the hospital on Sunday. That night after seeing the baby Levi came home, got his baby doll and one of his little blankets from his infancy. All night long he had the baby on the couch with us, wrapping it in it's blanket and passing him to mama and papa and back to himself.
We took them dinner the next night and Levi picked out a little blankie from the store to give the new baby. He knew we were on our way to their house and every time he saw a building from the car he would gasp and say, "Baby house!" It's really cute. Maybe someday he'll get a baby of his own. Maybe.

That place looks so cool, definitely a lot of photo ops there. Can you imagine doing wedding pictures there!
Levi and his little friend are cute together.
No maybes about babies, Levi has spoken.
Now that is what Hawaii is supose to look like. What fun. Looks like Levi is having fun with friends, learning to share. Good thing to know (for the furture??)
The Dole Pineapple plantation is the reason that pineapple is my favorite fruit. I have never forgotten the taste of real Hawaiian pineapple. So fresh, yummy! I still have my souvenir hat from when I was there in 1995! You know, I read somewhere that pineapple is a natural way to induce labor. Maybe I should go pick some up.
And I think Levi is trying to tell you something. Maybe it's time for a little brother or sister???
Aw, that looks like fun! I think he wants to go back in a couple of weeks :)
Those are great pictures. The Dole Plantation sounds like a fun place. Levi is growing up so fast!
Levi must be nurturing. That's so sweet! The few times we've been around smaller babies Izu has been wildly jealous of the attention, but hopefully that will change later :)
