we will rejoice and be glad in it

I haven't updated for a while, but things are pretty slow. We're just soaking in our own holiday cheer. It's exciting, however, that others are starting to join in the Christmas Spirit. Now that Halloween is done with, stores are free to focus on Christmas. I've seen a few other houses decorated with lights. Commercials are about Christmas. TBS even showed the cartoon version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas last night. Yep, it's Christmas time. And Levi is lovin' it. He is definitely our son. And he is gonna love Christmas for the rest of his life, just like he should. He is really into Santa this year, just like he's really into Mickey Mouse and Little Einsteins. A couple weeks ago we were at Wal-Mart and Levi saw this Santa in the Christmas aisle, which we walk down every single time we're at a store. He pointed and said, Baby. I'm not sure why. Maybe because of his rosey cheeks and creamy face? Anyway, I said, 'no that's not a baby. That's Santa.' And from that moment on, he knew and loved Santa. It's supposed to be on our front step outside, but Levi asks to bring Santa in the house pretty often.

If he's too scared to sit on fake Santa's lap this year, we always have this Santa to take pictures with. I can't make a call on what he'll be like this year for the Santa lap photos. I can see him going both ways. He might be really excited because he knows who he is and likes him. But, he might also be freaked out by it being a person who talks and moves. I think if we went to Disney World, he might be freaked out by the huge Mickey Mouse, even though he loves him. I think he knows they're just characters and they belong either on TV or they should be miniature size so he can hold them.

I really like this photo. It's magical. It's the most wonderful time of the year!
Here's a cute little craft project we did the other day. Levi still has some of his little pumpkins that he picked at the pumpkin fest while my Grammy was here. I'm using them as a center piece, but he wanted to get one of them down. He calls it a "Ponkin" So, I suggested he color it. It actually took some convincing. He thought it was kind of a strange idea. But, once he figured out it was really OK, he had at it.
Lately Levi has been turning things into Forts, sorta. He claimed this empty box we had Christmas stuff in as his own. And he likes to make Pippin get in it with him and just chill.
Papa too, of course.
As you'll see in the next photos, Papa is always up for a fort.
yeah, this is what happened in my living room for Veterans Day. I don't remember why, or what motivated it, but next thing I knew Nathan was asking for all the sheets, getting rope and lugging our King Size mattress out of our bedroom down the hall to the living room floor. At first the maid in me was against it, cause it was such chaos. But, it turned out to be really fun. Before Levi was born, we used to put our mattress in front of the TV allot. We would do it on a Friday night and leave it there all weekend so we can more easily lie in front of the TV and do nothing. Since we now have Levi, we just changed it to a fort so it was more productive I think. ;)

It was quite the fort. He stacked up those tubs, and used our camera tripod on the other side. There are both ropes and tent stakes running across the top to support the sheets. Levi really thought it was awesome. And it was.

I'm so glad he's talking and realizes his very own name now! How exciting talking must be for you guys. Also, I love the fort. We used to build "sheethouses" all the time even though my Mother hated the clean up afterward. Still it is one of my favorite memories with my sisters hiding out and playing under the "walls."

I'm just crackin' up that Nathan did all of that, and still didn't have to leave his position on the couch! Way to Go! Love the video clip, awwww Levi is so precious.
