Last weekend we went to wal-mart (naturally) and Santa and Mrs. Claus just happened to be in the store. And, there was an employee there with a great camera taking pictures for free. Great timing. We've taken Charlie into walmart with us several times now, and all we get from the employees is delight and ooggling over his cuteness. So, he was with us for the picture.

Some quality time on Levi's bed. Charlie is really upset every night after Levi is in his bed for the night with the door closed. He spends a good part of each evening bemoaning the loss of his friend. As soon as Charlie is able, he's gonna start sleeping in Levi's room with him.
This is a funny progression of pictures. I went to give Levi a bath and kinda thought Charlie might not even want to be near the bathroom. He knows what the bath is all about, so I assumed he would resist any possible trap. But he came in and watched the whole process. I had my camera just in case he did anything cute. Glad I did. It started like this, with Charlie curious and peeking in at Levi. He climbed up on that little step stool himself so that he could be even closer to the action. I told Levi not to touch him. Specifically not to try and drag him in!
But then, suddenly of his own accord, Charlie dove on in. He's a retriever after all. I love this picture. I was just snapping away as he slithered in.
They both have looks like, "Are we going to get in trouble?"
I was also impressed that Charlie didn't attempt to climb up on Levi in some sort of frantic dog way. This is the closest he got into Levi's space. Just for a little paw and kiss.
It was fun to be there for. Obviously Levi enjoyed the greatness of it all!
You might think that this is the sort of thing a toddler would suggest doing. But no...this was all me. I'm having as much fun with him as Levi is. He's just so utterly adorable and cooperative.
I think he'll fit right into Levi's bed when the time is right.
Yesterday Levi was inspired by his superman boxers to dig out his superman cape and swords. Other than his dress up day with all his Hopper cousins in St. Joe a couple months ago, he's never really done the whole super hero dress up thing. But, I think that may change now. After his day of playing he asked to keep his cape on for our trip to the store that evening.
Naturally we also had to put the superdoggy outfit on Charlie. He settled right into the role.
Apparently his role here was to be slain...by decapitation.
He retreated to my bathroom floor when it became a little too much for him. They did pretty well playing super heroes together though. When Nathan got home Levi gave him a sword but warned him that he could not hit Charlie with it.
Then first thing this morning Levi asked for his cape and then brought out Charlie's as well. So here they sit, two super guys, watching some morning Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I also like Levi wearing Nathan's watch in this picture. He treats it like a spy watch; talking into it and whatnot.

Oh, I just LOVE him (Levi too, hehehe). I want to cry over the fact that I'll never get to meet him. Please bring him home in May! I showed the pictures to Naaman and he said, "Yep, he's cute." That was it. I was hoping to get enough of a reaction to let me know that he still wants another dog someday. Right now we have so many issues with Roxie that it's definitely not discussed in this household. Naaman thinks I'm crazy for even mentioning it.
It is me that is obsessed with pugs and other small dogs. Naaman loves big dogs, of course. He wants a running partner. Roxie is out of breath in about 2 seconds ; )
I like the super friends. He looks like he's the perfect puppy for Levi, so willing to play.
Both super heros are so cute. A good dog is a wonderful thing to find. Charlie will also keep Levi company when Gracie comes. She will need a bit of time before the cape and dog and doll house.
