Apparently all I can do are LONG posts

I guess everyone should just assume that when I update my blog, it's gonna be a long read. I just take too many pictures and I can't leave any behind. It's kind of similar to how I had to sleep with all my stuffed animals as a child because I didn't want to hurt any of their feelings. Pictures are people too.
Most of these are just random daily photos. I wanted to capture Levi playing some crazy imaginitive game at the kitchen table. It's just a good journalistic photo basically captureing how Levi is. Various toys, costume pieces, crazy story line pulling it all together....

throw in a rock

And growls for dramatic effect

The next several pictures are some Gracie shots taken the week she turned nine months. She's just such a cute cute cutie, I can't put the camera down.

Peek-a-boo is her faveorite thing right now. She figured it out a few weeks ago and now does it with anything she can find to put over her face. Every baby does this, and it's cute every time.

Really, she should be a commercial baby or an add baby or something!
I love these next few facial shots. She is so creamy dreamy. Everyone should really come visit my house. My children are fun and delightful. I might be moody and cranky, but they're nice.

I feel the need to defend Gracie's giggly princess personality here and clarify that she's not making a rude face. She's breathing silly in and out her scrunched up nose. She's gotten to the age where she's starting to undestand that some things are silly and funny to do.

We've been here for a year now but somehow we just discovered this city park downtown by the harbor. It's awesome and such a great scene. We went there a couple weekends ago before Nathan was leaving for what was supposed to be a 5 week trip. He ended up coming home after 5 days as the trip was pushed back.
We found a catipillar along the path so Nathan and Levi are discussing how he's going to make a cacoon and turn into a butterfly someday.
Then they decided to help it out by putting it on the tree. I told them he had probably just spent hours getting off that tree and moving along the path cause it wasn't good enough, but they don't listen.
I think it's so fun to have pictures at the park with the ocean behind him. You'd think after seven years of living by the water I'd be used to it, but it's still pretty cool. Maybe that's the positive side to the fact that we don't get out much and take advantage of the places we live!

We discovered that Gracie is a heeman.
Gracie is so close to walking! She has been practicing and improving on how long she can stand and balance without holding onto anything. She's gotten very good at it. I'm just waiting to see her try those first steps any time now. She might even beat Levi on walking early. Still to be seen.
Just some good ol' reflection fun. I guess we love to look in the mirror at each age of our lives. It would be so much fun to have a room with mirror walls for the kids to play in. They would never leave.

The mirror pictures are fantastic. I especially love how Gracie is looking at Levi in the last one. You can tell she really likes him :)

I like Gracie's rude snuffle face, it's still cute.
Funny that Levi's got a whole story going with all those different props, and a costume. Very imaginative.

Oh my gosh, I cracked up at the photo of Gracie just hanging there on the jungle bar!

Apparently, she got the strong Shalz genes even though she is a princess :) She will be a tough girl anyway!

And I can't believe she's almost walking already. Time is moving too fast.

p.s. take advantage of ALL your surroundings while you're there. It's such a wonderful opportunity to explore new places.
