We had a big day on the 28th celebrating Charlie's birthday and Gracie's 10 month day. I'm sure it's pretty silly to have a party for a dog, but that's really just the kind of people we are. We celebrate. So, Levi woke up at 8am and first thing he said was, "Can we make Charlie's cake now?" And we did.

While the cake baked and cooled, we had some play time with the dog of the hour. He is the best dog we've ever had, for sure. He's perfect with both of the kids and they absolutely love him. I'm very glad we got him even though the timing was crazy and a gamble.

Charlie and his kids.
Cake time...the favorite time. Gracie was the only one left out and she did not approve. She tried pretty hard to serve herself. She has a birthday coming up, so she can just build anticipation till then.

Levi preforming for his is audience of adoring fans.
Charlie Brown, one year old dog who thinks he's just another kid in the family. He's cute, he's playful, he's soft and he loves...can't ask for much more.
Gracie also hit her 10 month mark that same day. Can't believe her birthday is only 2 months away. She's such a little person these days. She sort says a few words, but probably only I can tell. She claps and dances, sings and waves. She crawls like speedy Gonzales and she's so close to trying out those first steps. She's super sweet teamed right up with super sneaky. She's mischievous in the adventurous sense of the word and she's thrilled if you chase her because she's doing something cheeky. Where Levi is cautious and calculated, I think she will be carefree and spunky. However, that is my assessment of a 10 month old...so we'll see.

ah yes, here is one of those afore mentioned cheeky things she loves to be challenged over. Touching all the electronics she can find. She crawls over while stealing glances at any observers, stands up to the object and then turns like this to see if any one is gonna chase her down. It's her favorite game. It's one of those things that's adorable now but eventually becomes tiresome and gets them in trouble. Life gets complicated so quickly.

Naturally Charlie got to lick the spatula. Special day demands special treatment.
Charlie and his kids. She loves when Levi gets his tent out. I think she's proud of herself for being able to crawl in and out at her own pace. She also loves the peek-a-boo aspect of a tent.
I heart that shirt. Owls are my favorite right now...so I'm projecting that on my daughter. Isn't she just perfect?

These next pictures are precious in her little patriotic, sailor modeled outfit. Definitely a frame Nathan should have on deployment with him.
Thanks for serving our country, daddy. Love your hat.
If this isn't worthy to grace the cover of Navy Life magazines, I just don't know what is.

She's my favorite little baby girl and I'm glad we have her, and Levi and Gracie have each other. It's really rewarding to see them play together and become friends. I know they'll bicker like siblings do, and some days this is the furthest perspective from my mind. But they're gonna grow up loving each other so much and learning to treasure one another, just like mama and papa do.
