christmas activities

On Christmas Eve, we all packed up and went to the beach (North Shore). We were only there for about an hour probably, but it was fun.
Levi ate his lunch in his little beach tent while Papa waded out into the water. The water was nice, and so was the day. Nathan encountered some sea turtles too. He dramatically says that he was attacked. He was not.
After Levi ate his lunch we walked down the water and let him feel the sand with his toes. He liked it, but he was pretty suspicious of the waves. He always had his eye on them.

After the beach, we went home to wash the sand off ourselves and then prepare the Christmas Eve "Roast Beast" (aka Ham). We opened our stockings that Nanny Shalz sent for us and a couple of our own. Levi got a cute little "Baby's First Christmas" ornament (among other things) from Nanny. And he got a huge superman doll from us, of course. Unfortunately he's too young to give really appreciative responses to presents. But, that's OK. It's still fun.
On Christmas morning, he of course opened his own stocking from us. I think his favorite present was my old cell phone. We got new cell phones a couple months ago and I talked Nathan into letting Levi have my old one as a toy, cause he LOVED it. He always wanted it so badly, and I couldn't give it to him. So we let the battery die and Nathan did....stuff to it to make it not harmful for a baby's mouth. I don't know. Anyway...he got it in his stocking. Out of all his big fancy toys, he's played with it the most.

Eyore and the pup are from Grammy

Levi got a walker toy, which I think he's definitely ready for. He has just recently had a huge mobility breakthrough. Even since Christmas! He's been pulling up on things for several weeks now. But, man, he's confident about it now. And he's a speedy little crawler these days. It still doesn't look like the traditional crawl. He stays on his belly and just pushes the floor with his feet and pulls with his arms. But, he gets there. He doesn't stay where you set him down anymore...and it's time to baby proof the house. Last night I was cooking dinner in the kitchen, and in crawls Leevee! It was weird. You'll just round a corner and expect to see Levi sitting with his toys, but no...he's down the hallway standing up to a table. It's really strange. It still always surprises me when he gets to a new level. It seems so sudden every time.

presents from Nanny
These pictures look like they're taken on different days, but babies change clothes alot. They're all Christmas.

I got him these little "dipper" spoons that are supposed to help babies eat by themselves. They just dip them insteaed of trying to scoop a spoon. But, he didn't really go for it. He thought it quite odd. He also got that M&M thing in his stocking. Papa ate the M&M's and Levi tried to eat the toy.

We had a lovely Christmas. And a Hawaiian Christmas. It's different to not be at home with tons of family and I miss that. But I also like our intimate setting. Just the three of us celebrating together...it's nice too. We're our own little family, and we're so close, because all we have is each other. And we kinda like it. We had a merry Christmas, and I hope you all did too. And I'm sure more pictures will continue to flow as a result of presents.

I like the look on Levi's face while he is checking out the superman "doll".
And of course the Hawaiian shirts around the Christmas tree.
