Here is Levi's first sick boy on the couch day. About a week ago, he woke up feeling yucky. I let him come sleep in my bed at about 7:00, cause I could tell he wanted to still be sleeping, but he felt too yucky to stay in his room. And then about an hour later, I wake up to Levi puking milk all over himself and my bed! So, I jumped up and gave him a quick bath, which he really did not appreciate. Then, he proceeded to throw up several more times that morning. He has thrown up before, but this is the first time it really took control of him and he didn't like it. This was his first experience with all the things grown ups hate about throwing up and being sick. So, I decided to call off our chores for that day and just have a sick couch day. I used to love those days. It was worth being sick just to be pampered by my mom. To spend the day on the couch, which my mom had really transformed into a bed, with a guilt under me and pillows galore and another blanket over me. I could watch all my favorite movies and she would keep checking on me all day bringing toast and 7up. Ah...I miss those sick days. So, anyway, I put towels down on the couch and the floor, in case he threw up more. I set up in the comfy corner of the sectional couch with two pillows behind him and blanket over him. Then I set all his favorite toys around him. I think he really enjoyed it just like I always did. He definitely understood the situation and what I was doing for him. He sat still on the couch drinking his water and watching Mickey Mouse clubhouse. After a while he was able to have a little bit of dry cereal, and then after his snack he fell asleep right there on the couch watching 7th Heaven with his mama. And after his nap he was pretty much better. No more throwing up. Although he did still get to dominate the couch and tv that evening when papa got home too. Of course I took many pictures.
This is when he started to get a little silly and a bit of a ham for the camera. He went through a series of different faces. This one was the funniest.
This is just a really cute picture of him playing with mama's workout weights. We tested him at the store and he was able to lift up to 10lbs. Pretty good for that skinny little boy you see, eh?
And this is just one of the coolest pictures to date. We were at Jenene's house and she wanted to put those on him. She actually took the picture, and he's looking at me standing beside her. He was good for it. She put the face on him, picked him up and set him on the couch got her camera ready and took the picture. He just sat there with that look on his face until she took one picture. As soon as she snapped the camera once he yanked it off. "You got your picture, now get these ridiculous things off of me." I'm pretty sure that's what he was thinking.

Oh yeah, that hallway looks like great fun. good choice not to gum it up with a rug! I'd love to see Pippin's squattiness chasing Levi! Wow, great memories for you of being sick on the couch. It's one of life's little "stop everything" moments. Great that you're passing on the pampering to Levi! By the way, that face he is making is TOTALLY "sideways eyes" that you used to make for laughs at that age. Only you pointed your fingers to the opposite side that your eyes were looking. And stuck out your tongue. It would be while i was changing your diaper, just to entertain me. LOVE the Groucho face. Thanks to Jenene from the bottom of my heart.

the glasses, that's awesome.
I remember your sick days on the couch, I don't remember having any like that, but I remember yours for sure. You'll have to get him the Lion King to watch 8000 times while he's sick.
Sorry to hear of Levi's first sick day. But it happens to all folks. When Nathan was very little we had a hall and two doorways so we had a track. I remember having to get out of the way for little boys coming on what ever mode of transportation they had at the time. So be quick and enjoy.
Awww, poor Levi. I hope he feels lots better soon. Being sick is no fun but having your Mom "baby" you while you are always is : )

I wanted to say, love the bamboo floors, love the flower prints, and look at how tan his legs are!

Oh, poor sick boy. :( It amazes me how quickly kids bounce back though...
Love the new house! Great hardwood floors.
