Tuesday was Nathan's 25Th birthday. He's taken this entire week off for celebrating to the max. Unfortunately he's been very sick all week! Monday he played golf with some work friends and he came home from that exhausted and achy. Then Tuesday morning, his birthday morning, he was a mess. So congested he couldn't breath, coughing up lungs left and right, headache, all that stuff. He never really gets sick so this is pretty bad for him. And sad on his birthday week. But, we still threw him a party. Well, a 3 person party...his favorite kind.
Levi and I got up before him and decorated the house with balloons and birthday signs. We made oat scones and his favorite holiday punch. When he got up we played the Beatles birthday song and danced and then directed him to the couch. We promptly put on Lord of the Rings and ate breakfast. Here Levi is giving him his birthday hug. I like the way he's cradling Nathan's face with his hand. He's very sweet..jpg)
I mostly got birthday hats for Levi's sake. He's been very into birthdays lately and asking for hats and cake pretty often. So, he's been pretty strict with the hat situation. Everyone has an assigned color and they can't switch it up. Except him of course...he's putting on two here.

We put up balloons everywhere. Decorations and food are really just as important as presents...in this family.

Levi was pretty excited for Nathan to open his presents.

He told me after a commercial once that when he was a kid he always thought that if you had an electric knife that meant you'd really made it. So....
Saying 'cheese' for the cheese. .jpg)
All Nathan could really do was eat and sleep. He woke up for special meals and presents then fell asleep on the couch.

Levi and I walked into the room to find Nathan like this. He said, "I had a cake biting incident."

Poor little sick birthday boy. I'm glad he has the week off to rest, but it's pretty sad that he can't enjoy it. He's convinced that this is just what it's like now that he's 25 and "old." He keeps saying that this is what he has to look forward to for the rest of his "short" life.
But we still have cake, we still have decorations up and hats out, so I hope he'll feel better soon and finish it off good.

Poor little sickie birthday boy! But it would almost be worth it to have such a cute team of nurses taking care of you. Especially ones who really are so glad that you were born!!!!!!
Hope he's better by now!
Happy Birthday Nathan! What a bummer he was sick. Looks like you made it fun in spite of that! What a good wife!
