Love you like a hobo loves spare change

This was my present for our fifth anniversary. Nathan gave me a bundle of cash and said I could buy myself some jewelry. He let me pick it out myself, because that's really best. I love jewelry, so I want to be sure I love what we buy. Anyway, I do love this ring. Just to give you a visual, I gave myself a french manicure yesterday, knowing I would pick the ring up today. And I wear it on my right hand, middle finger. Picture it.
Now rewind a little...here is our New Year's Eve post. Levi being studly for the camera.

I had Levi help me make star shaped sugar cookies that night. I think it might have been the first time he got to help me make cookies. He's been playing with playdough so he knows the concept of stamping out a shape. He was pretty into it. Especially when it came time to cook them.

Nathan told him to "shake it like a polaroid picture."
If you don't understand that referance then just smile and nod.
Waiting for them to bake. 11 minutes is a long time for a toddler to wait for cookies. But, he had fun listening for the "beep beep beep" that I explaind to him would happen. He said, "Cookies say 'beep beep' when they're done!"

Very proud of his success.

He would like to offer a cookie to you...in spirit.

We did not leave the house that night because we didn't want to have to deal with crowds and staying out late. For whatever reason, people go absolutely nuts with fireworks here on New Year's Eve. They don't so much set them off for 4th of July, but New Year's is insane. And we happened to have a great view from our couch out our living room windows. This is Levi and Nathan watching the fireworks "go go go!" What was nice early on betrayed us once Levi needed to go to bed and bombs were still shaking the house with the noise. Needless to say, Levi woke up at midnight and needed to be lulled back to sleep around the very illegal blasts outside the window.

On New Year's Day we spent some time outside playing. We have not been able to let Levi play outside very much in the last several weeks because of the mass quantities of rain we've been having. Our back yard is pretty much a swamp and the bugs, especailly mesquitos, are awful because of it. We're out there for two minutes and Levi already has two bites on his face. But, anyway, on New Year's Day it was bright and sunny so we played in the driveway. Bubbles and riding in Hummers with Superman. What more could a boy want?
