lately

This post is just a little glimpse of the things we do around here every day. Nothing big and special, just some random shots.

We have not decorated for Christmas yet, because Nathan is gone. However I do suspect we will be living in a winter wonderland within days of his return next week. In the meantime, we did get out the beloved Santa. I wondered if Gracie would be scared; it's kinda big. But no...I've only seen her be scared of one thing so far. A crazy little chiuaua. Go figure. They are kind of alarming. Anyway, back to Santa. She actually says his name now. When I got it out I said "santa" a couple times, and boom, she repeated it. Now she knows if I ask where he is, and she says in her cute little voice, "santa, santa." She doesn't know who he is, or why he's there...but she doesn't seem to find him out of place. She's a very accepting gal. I didn't notice this until after the fact, but I love their red and green tops. ;)

She's a very expressive baby

One day I set her down to eat lunch, and she would not relinquish her baby doll. It's not a fight I wanted to pick so I let her keep it. At one point I looked over to see this bottom picture. She was actually feeding her baby doll some good ol' kidney beans. Now I know, she's my daughter and I think she's increadible. But, that's a little bit impressive for a 10 month old, right? She loves her little babies so very much. That's just an obvious fact of her little life. And now she's moved on to taking care of them. Since then I've seen her try to share her bottle with one also. She's sweet and precious.
It's been getting pretty chilly here. But sometimes we get a sunny and warm enough day thrown our way. Park outings are called for. As always, his little forlorn look is merely part of the role he's playing.
I went to the park assuming the 1o month old would just stay in the stroller. However, that's because this is my first adventurous child. She wanted out and she wanted to play. She accepted her spot on that merry-go-round and got her ride on. And she didn't stay put. Impressively, yet again, she held on and cruised around. There was no falling whatsoever, and she was very happy about it.

Just pure cuteness
She was pretty into the sliding also. I think she's gonna be a little daredevil keeping me on my toes. Levi will probably be freaked out by her lack of caution as well.

I wasn't going quite fast enough for her, so she started trying to climb her way up. She was not successful, but she did put in the energy, as is evidenced by her expression.

My pictures are a touch out of order, but it's night time and I don't want to fix it. So, here they are on the merry-go-round again. Cute little bugs, aren't they? It's only a matter of months until they're running around together.

I just can't think of anything original to say, Gracie is so cute!
That first picture of her on the merry-go-round I though it was a flash back picture to Levi as a baby until I read the post.
I love it that she loves her baby dolls. Kole will pick up a baby and hug it and say "awww" and then toss it down, but it's still adorable for a second.

Okay, Gracie is looking so much older lately. Her hair is getting longer and now she's standing up and looks like walking already? Did I miss that?

And saying Santa? Wow. I think girls must start talking way before boys. Landon didn't even say mama until he was like 15 months old, lol.

She'll make a good mama someday. All because of you :)

Can't wait to see all the Christmas decorations soon.

Thank you for your husband's service on this day and every day. For all the sacrifies your family must make in order to keep us all safe.
