Christmas Cookies & Gingerbread "club"houses

We have had two full days of baking and creating fun recently! My friend Rachel had the great idea to get together and make Christmas cookies. The kids were in and out of the process throughout the day, but the ladies had fun!

Even a boy can get into a rolling pin.
We also had our new friend Sara and her 1 year old baby boy come over to help. The babies needed their turn with the cookie dough.

Levi decorated his fair share of cookies. Some blobs here, tons of sprinkels there.
This part is all that really matters.
Once I finally cut off his supply of nibbling the cookies he took off to see what the babies were up to. Even Charlie had a doggie friend over to play with.
It's pretty hard to contain yourself when so many beautiful cookies are lying on your counter top. After his morning of sampling I got him to hold off until at least Papa got home to share and marvel.

And now just today we had more friends over to make Gingerbread houses. Or as Levi decided, Gingerbread Clubhouses.

We've never done food crafts like these. It's a pretty fun new activity. Again, the kids didn't stick around too awfully long. Especailly this time when Levi had another kid his size to run off and play with. But they did their part and made some memories.
Gracie goose didn't get to be involved in this activity but she was certainly interested.
She also had a little friend over for some baby fun. This is Micah and he's only a few months older than our girly girl. They like to poke each other's faces and chew on toys next to each other.

Ah, the finished product. Again with the constant temptation to eat things! But I think I've convinced him that it's not actually yummy since it's built to last a few days.
Or maybe not...

You and all your kitchen fun, good times!
Love Levi's tongue in the end, and your gingerbread house stayed standing, which is a feat we have yet to accomplish...we're trying again Saturday.

Oh my gosh, that looks like so much fun. I'm so glad you're making friends and your kids are making friends their size too :)

I have to go get one of those gingerbread kits to make with Landon. He would LOVE that!

Good times had by all. And then, I suppose a huge sugar crash at the end!
