A few weeks ago, Vera and the kids called us on Skype to chat for a bit. This is how it went down. Levi sat on the desk by the screen and kept touching the kids faces. He didn't say much, but they seemed to enjoy it. And then for the next several days he wouldn't stop begging and crying to sit on the computer desk, which we don't let him do, naturally. That was just a one time special. But, he doesn't forget after you let him do something once. He thinks it should happen everyday after that.
Here is just a cute pose of Levi sitting on Pippin like he does. It's hard to catch cute pictures of them because they're always moving. But this is a pretty good one.
On a different note, without pictures: We are moving. Just to a different house, of course. Our rent here in this house is outrageously high, so we've been looking off base to see if we could make a little money off our rent money instead of using it all up on just a silly little two bedroom duplex. So, we're moving into a two bedroom house. It's a little smaller than what we have right now, but we'll be saving $325 a month. The people who own it are in the military and are moving to Maryland. The house still needs work done on the inside. I mean, it's obviously livable. It's just little finishing stuff, like one of the bedrooms isn't painted yet, and I don't know. Just fixer up stuff like that. So, since Nathan is Handy Manny, we also worked out a deal with them to send us money for materials when a project comes up, and they'll also take some money off that months rent for Nathan's labor hours. It's a pretty good deal for us really, because Nathan can do all the stuff that needs done easily enough, plus this means we'll finally get to paint and decorate a house like we've never been able to cause we've always lived in military housing. I'm not excited about having to pack everything up, but at least it's not a big overseas move. It's just a couple minutes away, so it doesn't have to be perfect packing. And we have friends to help us get the job done.
We're pretty excited to not live on a base anymore. We won't have to stop at the gate and show our IDs every time we want to go home anymore. Sadly, we'll only be in the house for a couple weeks before we have to leave for 7 weeks. But, it'll be fun to come home to. Rest assured, once we move in, pictures will be posted.

Skype is finally paying off then! He needs to skype with Grammy and Grandpop now that he "gets" it more. I don't know why, but I think your move sounds terribly fun! Just to live in "real Hawaii" instead of on base, I think that's where the appeal is for me. I picture in my mind Lora and Lou's house in "real" San Diego, and that was the epitome of cool!
New houses are fun!!! I wish I was there to help you with the moving though.
We liked talking to him.
Good luck with the new house!
Yay for painting! When are you going to be in town again? Please email me so we can make plans to have dinner some time.
Hey! This is Karlie, you know Karen's (your mom's best friend's) daughter :). Your mom told me to check out your blogs, and it's great to feel a little closer. I wasn't able to leave a comment on Vera's but I love the pictures. Anyway, I'll try to be in touch some day when I have a little more time. Levi is ADORABLE! Love ya, Karlie
